Our Backyard

The pavers are all laid out, with just a few more adjustments and the sweeping of sand we will be completely done with this portion of our backyard project. Cost: $600.00. Cost for the builder to landscape the entire backyard: $3500.00. I think we are ahead of the game. Next up is the laying down of the sod.

This Sunday my wife and I will be going up to the lake to help with some painting of my in-laws home. The home we lived in the last two years. I have found out today that my father-in-law is a little upset that the Christmas lights are still up on the outside of the home. I don't understand why. Why do we live in such a seasonal world? Isn't Christmas all about family and happiness and if so, isn't that something we want to experience everyday? I know most people will think that I am lazy for leaving them up so long and I will admit that I am very lazy and yes that is probably the main reason they are still up, but at the same time they do add a nice colorful accent to the exterior portion of the home and when lit in July they become a nice conversation piece for the neighbors.
